Normalja did not educate only the students inside one building. It prepared teachers who carried Albanian language, books, methods and educational institutions into other communities.
WHY IT MATTERED

Opened in December 1909, Normalja was the first Albanian professional secondary pedagogical school. Its importance lies not only in chronological precedence, but in its ability to turn teacher preparation into an institutional process.

Made Albanian a language of schooling
At Normalja, the language of school subjects, didactics, psychology and school administration was taught and developed.
